Creation and Evolution

​In 1859, Charles Darwin wrote a book called “The Origin of the Species by Means of Natural Selection or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life.” At the same time, there was another noted scientist by the name of Thomas Huxley who threw his weight in behind the theory of evolution as Charles Darwin had presented it.

Thomas Huxley. One hundred years later in Chicago, there was a centennial celebration in recognition of Charles Darwin’s publication. Large numbers of the noted scientists, educators, writers and teachers gathered together for a few days of discussion. During one of the sessions, the grandson of Thomas Huxley, Sir Julian Huxley, stood up and stated: “Evolution is no longer a theory. 

It is a fact and it is the basis of all our thinking.” He also said: “Darwinism removed from the sphere of rational discussion, the whole idea of God as the creator.” That is, no supernatural designer was needed, since natural selection would account for any known form of life. 

That was 1959 and from that time, people went back to their schools, colleges, universities etc and began to put enormous pressure on others around them to accept the “fact” that evolution was not to be disputed. Indeed, the pressure was so great that most people were under the impression that if you were to challenge it, you either had to be a religious fanatic or uneducated. Scientifically, both creation and evolution are unprovable, as they are inaccessible to the scientific methods of observation and experimentation. No human was alive to observe and record the beginnings. Therefore, scientifically the best that can be done is to investigate the facts and then decide which theory is most in accord with the facts. Evolution is not a scientifically proven fact, but it is an ATHEISTIC RELIGIOUS BELIEF. The theory of evolution needs to be understood for what it is – a religion and philosophy which seeks to destroy faith in God and the Bible. In stark contrast, the Bible clearly states that the Lord of heaven made all things. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) “Thou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou has made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all the things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.” (Nehemiah 9:5) Many people are often tempted to accept the compromise position of “theistic evolution” according to which evolution is viewed as God’s method of creation. However, this is basically an inconsistent and contradictory position.

LET US PUT OUR FAITH IN THE WORD OF GOD…THE TRUTH, THE WHOLE TRUTH, AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.
